The 5-story building is being transformed into a property comprising 28 apartments and a communal rooftop space for residents. Its history has shaped the building’s character long before its transformation, bringing a sense of creativity and authenticity to the project while opening a new chapter as an industrial-inspired living space.

Located in the dynamic and evolving Omonia district, an area that has been transformed by significant investment and urban renewal, reshaping its identity while preserving its unique character. Bordering the vibrant Exarcheia neighborhood, known for its colorful street art, eclectic bars, cafés, and cultural energy, Omonia offers a rich blend of history, creativity, and contemporary urban life. Just 350 meters from the National Technical University of Athens, the National Archaeological Museum, and other cultural institutions, the building benefits from a central location that appeals to students, professionals, visitors, and tourists alike.
Architecture
Designed by ARID Architects, the transformation of Alitsis 4 draws from the building’s former life as a print house, which shaped its internal logic through rectangular rhythms, a clear structural grid, and functional simplicity. The internal layout was carefully reorganized to create residential units, including the relocation of the stairwell to the middle of the building to enhance the entrance of natural light and air throughout the spaces. The design preserves original elements of the building, including exposed concrete ceilings and timeless structural columns, while embracing a visual and spatial language of raw materials and industrial honesty.
